The Purpose of yourerdoc.com

After 11 years of working as an emergency physician , I have come to realize that the vast majority of patients in the ER shouldn’t be there. I’m not saying they should have stayed at home instead of calling 911 or driving over to the ER–I mean that they could have made some simple choices that would have prevented any need for my services. This site is the key to putting me and my colleagues out business. Go ahead and render our services unnecessary! I dare you!

Let’s face it; you don’t want to meet me. I’m not a bad guy, but when I’ve got the white coat on, I’m better off avoided. And I can be.

It is well known that there is a population of patients who come in to the ER much more frequently than the average person. These folks are known as frequent fliers. Some of them simply have bad luck. But many people are making dumb decisions very often, which in my opinion should be a diagnosis.
Here we strive for the eradication of dumb decision making, in all its forms, and wherever it lurks.  And we will succeed.  We will conquer dumb decisions by learning from the patients that learned the hard way in “ER stories”.  We will arm ourselves with information in “Ask the ER Doc.”  And yes, we will educate ourselves with some of the most unusual cases I’ve ever seen in “Strangest cases.”

From the man who likes to clean his rain gutters during a storm, to the lady who thinks she drives better after a couple beers, and even the man who “fell” on the curtain rod, please take a moment to consult with me here, and avoid a painful and costly visit to the ER.

Thanks again for visiting yourerdoc.com and please let me hear from you too!

Sincerely,

Your Er Doc
