However, thiefs have been stealing more expensive stuff such as endoscopes, ultrasound scanners or just the attached probes. Also heart monitors and defibrillators have been stolen. We have 'em. Patients at my ER steal booties, OB pads, emesis basins, linens - you name it. We try to keep everything locked up. Too bad they can't imprint "Property of General Hospital" on the side so once it was removed from the orifice the price of the item could be added to their bill.
